The seventh storm of the 2007 season, Gabrielle, formed off the east caost of the US on September 7th. The Hurricane Hunters flew low level invest missions for a couple of days looking for signs of circulation before the storm finally developed along an old frontal boundary.

 

During a low level invest mission, the ARWO monitors weather data on the aircraft looking for the tell tale signs of organization and circulation in the storm.
