Hurricane Flossie - Eastern Pacific - August 8-11, 2007
Hurricane force winds whip up the surface of the Pacific Ocean as crews flew Hurricane Flossie.
A radar shot of the eyewall of Flossie as the plane made a center fix and prepared to make the eyewall penetration out of the storm.
It's not all violent winds and dark lashing rains ina hurricane. Sometimes there is beauty in the beast!
